Title: “I-O Psychology’s Role in Strategic Human Resources Outsourcing (HRO): Can we shape the future of HR?”
Presented by: Kevin Kramer, Ph.D., Accenture
Location: GMU Arlington Campus, Original Building, Room 245 (view map)
Abstract: As evidenced by the recent SIOP name change vote, I-O Psychology seeks to develop itself as a strategic, forward-thinking Human Resources (HR) discipline that improves business performance in our rapidly changing world. As HR organizations evolve, with globalization, technology, and HR Outsourcing (HRO), it is critical that I-O Psychology views business changes as opportunities for I-O Psychologists to contribute more broadly to HR management - and contribute more value at the HR executive and CEO level. Kevin will discuss recent research and trends in HRO, HR areas where I-O Psychology can contribute more value, and strategies to help our profession “raise its game” to a higher level.
Speaker Bio: Kevin is an I-O Psychologist and Human Resources (HR) executive, with 15 years experience managing programs in human capital strategy, performance management, and organizational surveys and analytics. Currently, Kevin is Director of Human Capital outsourcing programs for Accenture in Reston, Virginia. Over the years, Kevin has delivered workforce assessment services for organizations such as IBM, Kaiser Permanente, U.S. Air Force, and other Federal Agencies. Kevin serves on the Leadership Committee of Northern Virginia Society for Human Resources Management (NOVA SHRM) as Leader of the Staffing Interest Group. Kevin is a Chairperson on the 2010 Executive Committee of the HR Leadership Awards (HRLA) of Greater Washington.

Hi all,
Hope everyone is staying warm and dry in the DC area. The PTC/MW board has decided to reschedule this event on account of (deep breath) another 5-10 inches of snow falling in the DC area Tuesday into Wednesday.
We will update the PTC/MW website and membership once Kevin Kramer's presentation has been rescheduled; we are looking forward to it.
Stay tuned.....and warm.
