Deborah Gebhardt (Human Performance Systems) was recognized as a "SIOP Fellow" at the 2008 SIOP Conference in San Francisco.
Rodney McCloy (Human Resources Research Organization) was recognized as a "SIOP Fellow" at the 2008 SIOP Conference in San Francisco.
Whitney Botsford (George Mason University) was awarded a SIOP Graduate Student Scholarship at the 2008 SIOP Conference in San Francicso. This scholarship recognizes achievement in a graduate career and is intended to assist doctoral students in I-O psychology with the costs of carrying out their dissertation work.
Elizabeth Conjar (George Mason University) and Dan Horn (U.S. Army Research Institute) were awarded the 2008 John C. Flanagan Award at the 2008 SIOP Conference in San Francisco. This award recognizes the best student poster at the SIOP conference. To be considered for this award, the student must be the first author on the paper. Their paper was titled, “Formal and Emergent Leaders’ Cognitive Accuracy in Social Networks.” Elizabeth was also awarded the 2008 Robert J. Wherry Award, in recognition of the best paper at the Industrial Organizational/Organizational Behavior (IO/OB) Graduate Student Conference. Elizabeth’s paper was titled, “The Impact of Task and Relationship Conflict on Team Structure: A Social Network Approach.”
Roland "Tom" Ramsay (Ramsay Corporation) has won the "Overall Top Product" award in Plant Engineering Magazine's “Product of the Year” competition for his "Online Testing System." Not only did the Online Testing System best the other products in its category, but it was voted by readers as the overall best product out of over 150 products. This is the first technology product to win the overall award.
Stan Ridley (Ridley & Associates) was invited to testify at a hearing of the U.S. House Subcommittee on the Federal Workforce, Postal Service, and District of Columbia, on 2/12/08, regarding pay for performance in the Federal Government. Suzanne Tsacoumis (Human Resources Research Organization) was elected to serve as a Member-at-Large (2008-2011) on the SIOP Executive Committee.

Transitions and Appointments
John ("Jack") Jones,
formerly President of IPAT, Inc., has accepted a new position as
Vice President and Chief Scientist at Vangent, Inc. (www.Vangent.com),
a Washington DC-based contractor and professional services firm
that is a recent spin off-of Pearson and currently owned by Veritas
Capital. Jack will work out of Vangent's Human Capital Division
in Chicago, IL, where he will oversee the Personnel Selection Inventory,
Reid Report, Employee Safety Inventory, Thurstone Mental Ability
Test, and LH-STEP, and other assessments. Jack may be contacted

January 1, 2008 brought significant
change for several PTC/MW members working at the Human Resources
Research Organization (HumRRO). Laurie Wise stepped
down as HumRRO President and moved from its Alexandria, VA headquarters
to his new position as a Principal Scientist in the Monterey, CA
office. Bill Strickland was promoted from his
previous position as a Vice President to President. Deirdre
Knapp and Suzanne Tsacoumis have joined Beverly
Dugan as Vice Presidents directing HumRRO's
research divisions, and Steve Sellman continues
as vice president for strategic planning. Cheryl Paullin was
promoted to manager of HumRRO’s Assessment Research and Analysis
Program.
