    The Senior Personnel Psychologist is responsible for providing technical expertise in the development and administration of testing and assessment instruments, as well as programmatic guidance and support to management and stakeholders. Typical interactions will be with management, Course Specialists, Instructional Systems Designers (ISDs), and content subject matter experts (SMEs).

    Responsibilities

    • Participate in research studies to evaluate the effectiveness of existing HR systems and tools, and consult with or advise management of conclusions and recommendations.
    • Apply knowledge of test theory, psychometric methodology, and statistics to research and analyze HR data related to hiring, retention, and workforce analysis.
    • Design and draft revisions of policies and operating procedures as they relate to human capital initiatives for Government approval.
    • Draft technical and non-technical reports, white papers, memos, and other documentation on a weekly to monthly basis.
    • Advise the Government to ensure mandated laws, rules, and regulations are properly assessed for potential impact on work initiatives.

    Job Purpose

    This position functions as a master level researcher/evaluator within the Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) Office of Research and Evaluation. Additionally the position is responsible for designing studies to address organizational concerns within DJS, developing and presenting reports and assisting with program evaluation.

    Position Duties

    This Research Statistician II/Organizational Development Analyst position functions as a master level researcher/evaluator within the DJS Office of Research and Evaluation. The position is responsible for participating in the implementation and reporting of: 1)data analyses that respond to questions posed by the Department, the Governor and the Legislature regarding who is being served, services provided and youth outcomes; 2) program evaluations of DJS interventions; 3) research projects undertaken by the Department. This position collaborates with other DJS staff, staff from other youth serving agencies, and/or universities in these activities. This includes keeping current on best practices in juvenile services interventions and evaluation and research methods applicable to the position. This position will be responsible for designing studies to address organizational concerns within DJS regarding change management, team building, leadership; and developing and presenting reports, and assisting with program evaluation. The highly preferred candidate will possess research experience in combination with organizational development backgrounds and education.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education: Possession of a master’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum of nine semester hours, or the equivalent, of graduate coursework in research methodology, theoretical or applied statistics or measurement theory.

    Experience: One year of post-master’s experience in statistical research.

    Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Statistician classifications or Statistician and Intelligence Officer specialty codes in the Statistics field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

    About the Job

    GSX is looking to hire a Junior Industrial/Organizational Psychologist for a full-time position supporting various projects across Government and Higher Education institutions. Working under the direction of a Senior I/O Psychologist, the Junior I/O will support the analysis of work functions, develop competency-based skill standards, and develop, implement, and maintain knowledge and skills-based assessments. Ideal candidates will have applied experience in supporting both quantitative and qualitative analytic efforts and is proficient in basic analytic tools.

    Responsibilities

    • Support job/task analyses

    • Assist in the development and delivery of knowledge and/or skill based assessments

    • Support the development of certification program policies and procedures

    • Administer data collection surveys

    • Participate in research studies to evaluate the effectiveness of existing systems and tools

    • Utilize qualitative and quantitative research approaches to answer practical questions

    • Produce technical and non-technical reports

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology

    • Experience applying I/O Psychology methods, facts, and principles in an organizational or work setting (applied experience during a graduate program internship is acceptable)

    Preferred Qualifications and Experience

    • Experience developing knowledge and skills assessments
