    AIR is currently seeking an Industrial-Organizational Psychology Researcher for our Washington, D.C. office.

    Responsibilities:

    The Researcher will work on several projects with responsibilities that may include: 

    • Serving as client contact for analytical or statistical expertise
    • Managing or leading projects or tasks 
    • Developing conceptual frameworks that guide project work (e.g., data collection and analysis plans)
    • Applying appropriate techniques to collect, analyze and report quantitative data

    Qualifications:

    • Apply psychological principles, theories, and methods to talent management
    • Manage projects related to job analysis and selection
    • Support the design, development, administration, and validation of assessments for leadership development, succession planning, and manager selection
    • Design and implement evaluation solutions for training and development programs
    • Develop and administer surveys for a variety of projects
    • Lead collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
    • Prepare executive summaries and present analyses to key stakeholders
    • Manage implementation of validation studies and impact assessments

    This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology or related field
    • Industrial and Organizational Psychologist 3 
      • 5 years working with applied research methodologies and performing data analyses in a professional environment
    • Industrial and Organizational Psychologist 4
      • 8 years working with applied research methodologies and performing data analyses in a professional environment
    • Experience performing personnel research in the design of training and development programs, analysis of training needs, validation of selection and assessment instruments, and management of projects in an academic or applied setting
    • Experience in test development and validation
    • Experience in survey design and statistical analysis
    • Knowledge of best practices around topics such as selection, training and development, leadership, and retention
    • Outstanding organization and project management skills
    • Exceptional relationship-building skills with an ability to manage customer expectations in an efficient and effective manner
    • Demonstrated aptitude for learning with the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and navigate ambiguous situations
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate with other team members
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • PhD in Industrial / Organizational Psychology or related field
    • Experience designing and validating applicant assessments with broad impacts across a diverse workforce
    • Experience in change management, talent management and larger scale OD projects
    • Experience with gathering information from job incumbents via structured interviews, focus group sessions and job observations
