The Personnel Research and Assessment Division within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is recruiting for an experienced Psychologist with strong leadership skills to join our team as a Supervisory Personnel Research Psychologist (GS-180-14, salary range: $117,191 to $152,352 per year) in its Washington, DC office. Applications will be accepted from Tuesday May 7, 2019 to Friday, May 17, 2019.
The Personnel Research and Assessment Division is a team of Industrial-Organizational Psychologists responsible for designing, developing, and validating tests and other assessment instruments for use within CBP, enhancing organization effectiveness through organizational development, and conducting research to support national initiatives.
Potential assignments include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as the first-line supervisor of a team responsible for major research, development, and implementation projects within the Personnel Research and Assessment Division; supervising a staff consisting primarily of psychologists with advanced degrees (Master's or Ph.D. level) in the field of Industrial/Organizational Psychology;
- Reviewing, training, and guiding project team members concerning the proper use of tests and other examining devices for personnel selection;
- Formulating and guiding the research approach to be used to resolve critical management problems.
- Overseeing the development of evaluative tools and surveys to support organizational effectiveness within CBP and establishing deadlines and performance expectations, setting priorities, providing clear direction, and monitoring activities of the team to ensure timely completion of assignments.
