FLSA: Exempt

Pay: Base salary plus commission

The Business Development Manager will develop a pipeline of new business by developing sales opportunities with federal agencies and with market partners. The BDM’s focus will be to grow the Federal Solutions market share via current customers and new federal customers.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Able to develop business opportunities using well-honed prospecting skills
  • Ability to develop a strategy to pursue prospects
  • Strong understanding of Human Capital and/or Assessment solutions; ideally, how they are used in the federal market
  • Knowledge of federal contracting market including but not limited to varied acquisition vehicles. E.g., GSA, HCaTs
  • Knowledge of overall federal market; i.e., what agencies invest in HC solutions, leading HC partners
  • Solid Presentation Skills
  • Unwavering Professionalism

Job Duties

  • Pursue new business opportunities within HR Services and Technology segment with federal agencies and partners
  • Call and email prospects and partners on a consistent and regular basis – move them along in the sales pipeline
  • Leverage the Internet, LinkedIn, technology, and research methods to find and develop new sales prospects
  • Respond to all assigned leads in a timely manner via phone and email
  • Document activity and lead progress in
  • Work closely with VP, Federal Solutions and team to develop proposal responses to federal government solicitations
  • Consistently meet or exceed quarterly revenue quotas
  • Work closely with project management team to ensure project success
  • Actively contribute in team and departmental meetings; consistent communication with VP, Federal Solutions

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree preferred; background in Industrial-Organizational Psychology a plus but not required
  • Minimum of 10 years of sales/BD experience
  • Self-starter – will be working remotely but with significant support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to successfully communicate with all levels of an organization from support staff on up to Directors and Senior Executives.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional follow up skills
  • US Citizenship
