HumRRO, an independent, nonprofit organization located near Old Town Alexandria, VA, and Washington, DC, offers exciting challenges and opportunities in a variety of program areas. We provide customized solutions to issues related to personnel selection, strategic human capital management, program evaluation, educational research, program policy and analysis, and other areas that have broad impact.
HumRRO is seeking a motivated individual to contribute to the organization’s personnel research activities. Individual will serve as a member of a research team and ultimately direct projects. Individual also will participate in expansion of existing contracts and development of new business through proposal writing and business networking.
Projects may include:
• Performing literature reviews;
• Assisting in conducting job analyses;
• Assisting in the development of cognitive and non-cognitive measures, including physical tests, online role plays, situational judgment tests, in-baskets, and logic-based reasoning measures;
• Administering data collection measures;
• Performing basic statistical and other analyses to facilitate the interpretation of data;
• Assisting in the development of proposals to secure new research contracts.
The position requires basic knowledge of industrial/organizational psychology; the ability to work as a team to ensure technical quality, timeliness, and adherence to budget; and excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of measurement and statistics (using SPSS, SAS, and/or R) is a plus. Candidates should be willing to work on a variety of types of tasks and projects, and possess a desire to learn and develop inventive methods that respond to client needs. Candidates with a master’s degree in industrial-organizational psychology, physiology, or a closely related discipline are preferred.
