The Sr. Consultant works very closely with key clients and stakeholders to define a long-term talent selection and assessment strategy for Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH). In this strategic role, the Sr. Consultant targets future critical needs and specialized roles to impact business success and support Baylor Scott & White Health’s Talent Management and Recruitment team in producing a pipeline of qualified talent for the organization. The Sr. Consultant reports to the Manager of Talent Selection and Assessment of Baylor Scott & White Health and works closely with the HR Business Services, Talent Management and Recruitment teams for development and execution of talent selection and assessment strategies.

Job Functions:  

  • Designs, develops and validates practical, effective, defensible and candidate-friendly selection tools and processes
  • Manages and conducts job analyses, competency-modeling, test validation and other selection-related projects
  • Ensures that assessment tools and processes are properly operationalized, documented and implemented to meet business needs and professional standards
  • Manages assessment vendor relationships to ensure a high level of customer service
  • Serves as a subject matter expert on selection and assessment issues, policies and tools
  • Trains and coaches HR Business Partners and Recruitment teams on selection practices and tools
  • Collaborates with the Recruitment team in evaluating the recruiting process and identifies opportunities for process improvement and integration with selection processes
  • Develops and implements assessment strategies for employee and leadership development


  • A Master's degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology or any related field is required; Ph.D. or equivalent mastery is preferred
  • Must have relevant experience in employee selection in a corporate environment, developing, validating and implementing pre-employment, promotional and developmental assessments
  • Strong research and data analysis skills
  • Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and execution, excellent project management capability
  • Proficient in using statistical packages (e.g., SPSS) to oversee the analysis and management of data
  • Adept at using Microsoft PowerPoint to present business strategy and results
  • Experience in managing vendor relationships
