Abstract: Big data has received a lot of attention recently.  Small data continues to have use.  How are organizations using big and small data to make better people decisions?  Dr. Biga will present JetBlue’s approach to people analytics and how they use big data to make better hiring decisions.  Performance evaluations are one of the most important services an organization and people department provides for its employees.  JetBlue has taken an novel, data driven approach to this work that helps support smarter talent decisions internally.  An overview of all people data and analytics will be provided.

Speaker Bio: Andrew Biga is the Director of Talent Management and Analytics for JetBlue Airways.  Andrew oversees two teams jointly responsible for creating a culture of feedback with the right people, process, and technology foundations in place to enable better business and talent decisions.  The Talent Management team is responsible for executive succession plans, development of a companywide competency model, high potential assessment and identification, performance management for all salaried positions, and career development tools for frontline employees are core products and services.  The Crewmember Insight team connects our customer’s experience with our employee experience through data linkage and advanced people analytics and assessment.  Our annual engagement survey, monthly pulse surveys, internal and external employee assessment and selection are core products and services.  Andrew completed his PhD in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of South Florida and currently lives in New York City.
